TRUSSES & JOISTS | MBC TIMBER FRAME

Vaulted Roof Detail

The Cut or Vaulted Roof is an engineered system that provides open living space directly below the roof rafters as there are no horizontal ceiling joists.

The MBC cut / vaulted roof rafters utilise open metal web posi joists set at a predetermined angle or pitch to achieve the cut / vaulted roof structure.

The open metal web posi joist sees parallel timber flanges that are plated together with an engineered steel web component.

The steel webs are plated in a ‘V’ formation, providing a lightweight structural roof joist that can span greater distances in comparison to a standard solid joists. Insulation is fitted by MBC running up the slope of the cut roof joist.
